Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of payments can be made?

Any type of payment an Agency wants to configure! This could include licenses, parks & rec, fines and court fees, library fees, camping fees, and more. This does not include Utility Billing payments, which can only be made with an active Public User Account within FrontDesk.

How is Guest Payments Added?

If you have FrontDesk and gWorks Cloud hubs, Guest Payments is simply enabled for your Agency's portal. Guest Payments does not sync with legacy gWorks software, such as SimpleCity Fund Accounting Modules.

Does this interface with a physical card reader?

No, it doesn’t. It relies on the client to type in their payment information.

Can payment information be saved?

No, this is for one-time information only.

How does the citizen get a receipt?

Guest Payments requires the citizen to put in an email. They will receive an email receipt.

How does a citizen access Guest Payments?

Each Agency will have a stand-alone URL, or if your Agency uses FrontDesk's Website Builder, there is a Widget to add the Guest Payments link to your page.

What if I am an active login Public User in FrontDesk, may I still make a payment through Guest Payments?

Yes, any citizen can make a payment through Guest Payments. It will be up to the Agency to manage what kind of payments are accepted through Guest Payments.

Are there fees associated with making a Credit Card or Debit Card Payment via FrontDesk?

The Citizen will be subject to the current transaction fees through gWorks Payments for credit and debit card payments enforced by the agency through FrontDesk.

Will I be emailed that my payment is "Confirmed" so essentially I have a receipt of a Guest Payments Payment?

Yes, a receipt will be emailed to both the Agency and Citizen.

Are there Guest Payment accounts?

No, there is no log-in or saved information for Guest Payments. Each payment made will be a new entry regardless of who makes the payment or how many payments are made.

What payment methods are accepted?

Credit Card and Debit Card payments only. Guest Payments does not support ACH payments. All payments will go through gWorks Payments. No other payment processor will be used.
