Frequently Asked Questions

Can your software help manage Landlords?

Absolutely! When you indicate the Bill Payer on an account is a Tenant, that Property Owner is automatically added to your list of Landlords.  For each Landlord you can see all of their properties, configure notification and billing preferences, and easily manage the Tenant and Landlord responsibilities for each property. The Landlord will have a separate Property Owner Utility Account ("Landlord Account") for each Service Location they own that does not change even if the Tenant changes. (Each Tenant will have their own unique account).

Can Utility Billing Hub work with the meter reading software we use?

We have interfaced to all of the most common Meter Reading solutions including those from Sensus, Neptune, Badger, Itron, Mueller, Master Meters, Kamstrup, Tantalus, Landis & Gyr, RG3 and many others. If the meter reading software you use isn’t listed here, your gWorks representative can let you know if we currently interface to it. UB Hub is designed to give you the power to easily configure the customer, location, and meter information your meter reading software vendor needs.

Is it easy to penalize accounts that are past due?

You can create as many penalty tables as you need that apply at the account or service level with incredible flexibility to define how the selected accounts, services and charges are penalized. All Utility Accounts must be either set as Penalty Exempt or associated with one or more penalty tables.   

Can Utiltiy Billing Hub notify for penalties to utility accounts?

The type of Notice you configure will determine the event that triggers the notice to be sent.

  • The Delinquent Notice is generated automatically when the Utility Account is penalized and goes into Delinquent status.
  • Final Notices, also known as Shut Off Notices, will get generated one day before the Disconnect Date. The Disconnect Date is set up when you schedule accounts for shutoff.
How does Utility Billing Hub handle shutting off accounts that don’t pay their bill?

You can configure settings to determine how Utility Billing Hub will treat Utility Accounts that are shutoff. You can treat a shutoff Utility Account as if the Public User has moved out or you can treat the Utility Account as if there were no Service at the Service Location.
